Timothée Chalamet Got a Haircut and I Need a Moment to Process It

How is Timothée Chalamet's hair so great?

That's the question I ask myself every time I see a photo of the Call Me by Your Name star. Chalamet's hair texture, is dare I say, perfect. It's wavy and impeccably disheveled regardless of whether or not he's tucked the front pieces behind his ears, it's flipping out from underneath a baseball cap, or slightly in his face, swooping down on his cheekbones — it's the exact look I am going for when I use a flat iron to give myself beachy waves every morning.

However, as of approximately 3 p.m. on September 7, 2018, I no longer stan for Chalamet's hair. What's made me up and quit loving his hair so abruptly? He chopped it all off.

Chalamet showed up to the 2018 Toronto International Film Festival to promote his upcoming film Beautiful Boy with a dramatically different look. The actor has a bowl cut. His new style is choppy, hits right above the ear, and it's short on the sides. Yes, it's the same cut moms give their sons using a salad bowl and kitchen scissors.

Considering how people love to hate on bowl cuts like they do mullets, it's understandable why Chalamet would be shy about showing off his new look. Sure, this new cut means I'm going to have to find a new source of hair inspo, but if Chalamet's bowl cut is for a role (he is reportedly playing a young Henry V in The King), I respect his dedication to his job.

Whatever the reason Chalamet cut off all of his hair, I'm mourning the loss by pouring one out tonight.
