It's time to schedule your COVID-19 and flu vaccines. Where to get them in Louisville
The signs of fall are mounting up as the leaves start to change and the air gets cooler, which means it's also about the time of year for flu season and the necessary shots to prevent it and other viruses like COVID-19.
Experts say getting properly vaccinated against respiratory viruses ahead of the cold months is critical this year, especially after the uptick in COVID-19 infections during the summer, according to USA TODAY.
Where can I get a flu shot or an updated COVID-19 booster in Louisville?
Several pharmacy chains and stores around Louisville are offering both flu and updated COVID-19 vaccines, and some are even giving out rewards for coming in and getting the shot.
Walmart
There are several stores in Louisville that offer the COVID-19 vaccine and the flu shot "as supply becomes available," spokesperson Tyler Thomason said. Appointments can be scheduled in advance, but walk-ins are also accepted, he said.
As of Thursday morning, the following stores have both vaccines available:
Walmart Supercenter, 4840 Outer Loop, Louisville
Walmart Supercenter, 10445 Dixie Hwy, Louisville
Walgreens
Walgreens is offering $10 Walgreens Cash to everyone that gets a vaccine until Dec. 31 "which MyWalgreens members can earn on their next purchase of $1+ in store nationally," said Stephanie Corcilius, a spokesperson for the company.
As of Thursday, The following stores have appointments for both vaccines beginning Tuesday:

Kroger
Several area Kroger stores are offering both vaccines either through their in-house pharmacies or The Little Clinic health care centers in some locations.

CVS
CVS is emailing people who get the flu shot a $5 off $20 coupon valid in stores until Dec. 31, according to their website.
As of Thursday morning, appointments were available at more than 30 locations across the Louisville metro area beginning Monday, though some stores have immediate availability.
