Time for a Deep Dive on Aven Jones From ‘The Bachelorette’

In case you've been living under a literal rock, you'd know that The Bachelorette came back into our lives approximately four weeks ago (not that we're counting...), which means we get to meet a whole new group of hot single men just out here trying to find love (and ideally a sponcon contract!) in this cruel, uncertain world. And though this season looks just slightly (read: totally) different thanks to ABC casting both Gabby Windey and Rachel Recchia as co-Bachelorettes, luckily, they're not competing against each other.

Though other details on how the rest of the season goes for Gabby and Rachel remain slightly mysterious, we do know that each of them ends with their own pool of prospects. Which brings us to Aven Jones.

Based on spoilers, 28-year-old Aven is going to continue to get plenty of screen time this season, so the time has come to get to know him better. (Also, speaking of spoilers, there are some ahead but we’ll give you a warning beforehand. So for now, this is a safe zone!)

Aven Is a Sales Executive

What does he sell, you ask? Unclear, but he works in San Diego, California—where a huge number of recent Bachelor Nation alums live (Katie Thurston included!).

He’s Super Passionate

ABC’s bio writer reports that “Aven’s life is fueled by passion. Whether he’s slaying the sales game at work or hooping on the weekend, Aven puts his heart into everything he does. He tries to approach love with the same mentality but has yet to find his perfect match.”

Maybe The Bachelorette will change that! Either way...

He’s All About Loyalty in Relationships

Aven knows exactly what he wants from a partner: someone who is “loyal, honest, and able to organically bring out his fun side.” He’s also hoping to find someone who loves to travel as much as he does and “will value quality time together above all else.” Above all else? “Aven wants to build a meaningful relationship that goes deeper than the surface and when he meets the right one, he is ready to put it all out there if it means finding his forever.”

• Aven allows himself to eat out only once a week.

He Makes It to Rachel’s Final Four

In other words, Aven is one of the four men Rachel goes on hometown dates with. Thanks to Reality Steve’s sleuthing powers, we know that Rachel visited Aven’s family in Salem, Massachusetts, in April—and there’s even footage of their date:

He Ends Up Being A Runner-Up

For the longest time, there were no spoilers whatsoever about exactly how far Aven—or the rest of Rachel/Gabby’s final four—made it. This was likely due to the fact that much of The Bachelorette was filmed on a cruise ship (so it was probably easier than usual for producers to keep things under wraps). But like the absolute king he is, Reality Steve came though with all the intel and revealed that Aven winds up being Rachel's runner-up, which TBH is sad news for those of us who legit felt like we were on that Belgium date with them.
