Timberland summer library program to offer events, activities and rewards for all ages

Timberland Regional Library’s Summer Library Program is returning from June 1 to Aug. 31 to all 29 of TRL’s branches across Grays Harbor, Lewis, Mason, Pacific and Thurston counties.

The program is free, open to all ages and involves books; hands-on creative- and science-based programs; TRL StoryTrails, or interactive hikes; and various events, according to a news release.

Signing up for the summer program gives all participants one book and an activity log, and each participating family receives one TRL tote bag.

Participants earn additional rewards for completing 10 books or activities. All receive another book while supplies last, and youth ages 12 and younger receive a ticket to Northwest Trek Wildlife Park or Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium. Youth ages 4–13 receive one ticket to a Tacoma Rainiers game.

Those who cannot visit a Timberland library can still participate in the summer program through Anywhere Library, TRL’s mobile services branch with stops in each TRL-serviced county.

Participants can log their summer program progress on paper or online with Beanstack, accessible on TRL’s website or the Beanstack app.
