Timberland Adds Go Roam Sneaker to Circular Timberloop Line for Earth Day
Timberland is releasing a new style to help reach its 2030 goal.
Celebrating Earth Day, Timberland is advancing its circular design campaign. The company has launched the Timberland Go Roam sneaker, the latest shoe in its line of recyclable shoes.

The low sneaker is made of a breathable cotton canvas upper, 34% recycled rubber outsole and a lightweight EVA footbed. The combination makes the shoe both light and breathable. But, the way that it was created ensures that the components can be disassembled and recycled.
In 2020, Timberland announced a goal of 100% circularity by 2030. To achieve that goal, the company began a scheme in 2021 in which it would take back used Timberland products in exchange for a 10% discount on a future purchase. Those products would then be either repaired or upcycled and recycled into future products.
In April 2022, the company started releasing Timberloop styles, or shoes designed intentionally for full circularity. That began with the Trekker City Hiker. In 2023, a limited-edition premium 6-inch boot was added to the line.
The efforts are part of industry-wide trends towards recycling and sustainability. Other outfits like New Balance have also initiated similar programs. By designing for circularity, more products will have their materials put back into recycling streams, reducing waste and environmental impact.
“Timberland products are already designed to be durable and long-lasting, and I love the idea of extending that even further with a second life outside the landfill,” global brand president Susie Mulder said of the line. “With the growing awareness of environmental issues and personal consumption choices, I believe our community will be as excited about the Timberloop program as we are. This is a huge step as we work toward our vision of a more equitable and green future.”
Timberland’s Timberloop Go Roam sneaker launched on timberland.com and in Timberland stores worldwide on Monday.
