Tim Tebow and Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters’ Wedding Registry Includes Just About Everything
Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters and Tim Tebow are in the final phases of wedding planning, which means guests and fans alike should be excited for one key facet of their engagement: their wedding registry is here. Leading up to their wedding day, Tebow and his fiancée unveiled their picks on The Knot Registry, which includes everything from essentials for their newlywed nest to donations in lieu of gifts to their chosen charity of choice.
“Tim and I actually met in 2018 through our mutual love of serving people with special needs,” Nel-Peters tells The Knot and others. “My late baby sister, Franje Peters, got invited to the Tim Tebow Foundation’s yearly prom for people with special needs entitled, ‘Night to Shine.’ It’s hosted annually in over 750 locations and more than 34 countries. South Africa happen to be one of them. The Knot Registry made it so easy to seamlessly integrate our charity fund for the foundation into our wedding registry.”
The high-profile pair hand-curated everything, but the ability for guests to donate directly to the Tim Tebow Foundation was most important as they were building their registry. “Tim and I feel so fortunate that we’re able to celebrate our love with our family and friends in just a few short weeks,” says former Miss Universe Nel-Peters. “This is a cause that has been such a big part of Tim’s life (and now mine) for years, and we’d love nothing more than to support those in need during this special and momentous time. Additionally, the Tim Tebow Foundation has a unique place in our hearts, because… it’s what brought us together.”
The couple added an experiential element to their wedding registry by requesting guests donate to their honeymoon fund. While they won’t disclose the location publicly, it will be warm and full of activities. Of course, for when they arrive home, they’ve included several design elements to the home as well.
Tebow and Nel-Peters also wanted to ensure they had essentials for the home and any future guests they might have over. “One thing Demi and I like to do is host people: family, friends, team members,” Tebow muses. “So even though we had a few must-haves, we really wanted a bunch of products for cooking and entertaining.” The couple registered for everything from decorative cheese boards to aromatic wine glasses.
“We added an open fire grill—Demi is South African and absolutely loves BBQ,” Tebow continues. “[In addition to] fine china for hosting friends and family and an espresso coffee machine.”
The future spouses got engaged a year ago with both sides of the family present to witness the moment. “We had so many surprises, but the problem is I had to lie, like a lot,” he told Good Morning America in February 2019. “I didn’t really like it or feel comfortable, but I had to. And it was worth it.”
With wedding planning, Tebow knows who’s leading the charge. “We have some really unique moments that will be a part of it,” he concludes to The Knot. “I just mostly say Yes, babe.’”
