Tim McGraw Kicks Off Holiday Season By Surprising Fans With Six New Songs
Sounds like a great gift to us!
Here's one way to thank your fans: release a surprise, six-song EP just in time for Thanksgiving.
Tim McGraw has gifted us all with a collection of six new songs he's dubbed Poet's Resumé—which was quite a surprise since he just released a full-length album, Standing Room Only, in August.
"In the spirit of being thankful. I'm so grateful for all of you and the ways you have supported me, my family and my music thru the years," McGraw posted on Instagram. "Here's a little surprise drop of a few songs you've never heard. Enjoy!"
Fans responded with gratitude for the "unexpected yet wonderful gift" of Poet's Resumé, not to mention admiration for McGraw's large catalog of music. Standing Room Only was his 17th studio album and the title track was his 46th song to reach No. 1 on the country radio charts. He was honored with the ACM Icon Award this fall.
You can catch a video clip of McGraw working on one of the new songs from Poet's Resumé, "Runnin' Outta Love," on Instagram, plus a full lyric video of the song on his YouTube channel. The EP is available through streaming services including iTunes, Spotify, and Amazon.
McGraw's Standing Room Only Tour starts in 2024, with dates currently scheduled through the summer. Lucky concertgoers may get to hear him perform some of the newly released songs live.
