Tim McGraw wasn’t joking when he said that becoming empty nesters has been like a “second honeymoon” for him and Faith Hill.

From complimenting her Southern cooking to waxing poetic on stage, the “Live Like You Were Dying” singer has taken every opportunity to fawn over his famous wife since their youngest daughter left home.

Fresh off the ACM Awards speech that left us teary, McGraw took to Instagram today to celebrate Hill yet again, this time for her 56th birthday.

“Happy birthday to the love of my life, my partner, and my best friend,” the crooner wrote alongside a photo of Hill. “You light up every room you walk into. And you light up my heart and soul. I love you more than I could ever express in a million years. This is your day my love!!!!”

McGraw shared a similar message for Hill while accepting the coveted ACM Icon Award at the ACM Awards last month.

“You’re my partner in life, you’re my partner musically, and help the rest of me,” he said while fighting back tears. "I would not be where I am today without you and your grace. I love you unconditionally.”

The country couple, who married in 1996, share three daughters: Gracie, 26; Maggie, 25; and Audrey, 21. Audrey was the last to move out of her parents’ Nashville home in 2022. She and oldest sister Gracie live in New York City where they’re both pursuing careers in entertainment. Maggie, who graduated with a masters degree from Stanford in 2021, currently lives in Tennessee.

McGraw opened up about this new chapter in their marriage in a recent interview with Apple Music, noting that the first few months were “a little rough,” but they “figured it out.”

“We got married, had a baby, and now it's like we're kind of on our second honeymoon… but we're enjoying it,” he explained. “Now when the kids come home, it's like, if they're there for five days or so, we're like…Don't you have somewhere to go? Mom and dad need a little candlelight time."

McGraw and Hill will celebrate 27 years of marriage in October.
