  • Last Man Standing is coming to a close after nine seasons, and fans are nothing short of devastated over the show's conclusion.

  • The finale is set for May 20, but Tim Allen took to Twitter in late March to share his emotions surrounding the show’s close.

Tim Allen is closing the chapter on yet another fan-favorite character!

Starting on March 22, Tim, who plays Mike Baxter in Last Man Standing, took to Twitter to express gratitude to the fans who have been watching the ABC-turned-Fox sitcom over the past nine years.

“Table read tomorrow for our last show of nine grateful seasons,” he captioned the post, which featured the entryway of the Baxter’s home. “Thanks to all who watch our work.”

On March 23, he continued his trip down memory lane, sharing a seldom-seen shot of his desk. “The view behind my character's desk we very rarely see in shots,” he captioned the photo. “Every place in this set has memories and laughs for me.”

That same day, Tim shared a post commemorating his last day in his “Baxter den,” as well as the fact that Mike’s truck, a 1956 Ford F-100 (which is his truck in real life), will be returning home to his garage after years on set.

And the memories just kept rolling in over the next week. On March 24, he shared a group shot of the cast during their final scenes, and on March 26 he posted a snippet from the last shot in his “favorite store ever.”

While Last Man Standing fans had started to get emotional on his earlier posts, it wasn’t until his March 29th tweet, featuring the next-to-last day of shooting, that the sad replies really started coming.

“So any[sic] emotions as we shoot this next to last day,” he captioned the post. “Whew. Thanks to so many people most of all all you who watched our work. Thank you.”

To which one fan wrote, “Still can’t believe that it’s ending. I really don’t want it to end.”

And another chimed in, “As a dad with all daughters, I'm gonna miss the show! Thanks to the whole cast... it was fun!”

On Tuesday, March 30, Tim continued his nostalgic Last Man Standing social media posts by referencing one of his past iconic roles.

“Really hard moments this last day,” he wrote. “We will get a limited audience for the live show tonite. Going out mission accomplished.”

Later that day, he posted a selfie, captioned, “Halfway thru this emotional last episode waiting for my last scene in the office.”

And then, to wrap things up, a final somber shot of the Baxter’s front door.

“Finished...so so sad and yet piles of gratitude,” he wrote.

Naturally, fans of the show are feeling just as emotional as Tim is.

“I will miss this show so much,” one Twitter user wrote.

“We're going to really miss this show. God Bless Tim,” another commented.

“Thank You for 9 wonderful seasons!!!!” someone else exclaimed.

“Will miss this show! Loved it as much as I loved Home Improvement. Can’t wait to see future projects,” another Twitter user wrote.

“As someone who grew up watching ‘Home Improvement’ with her parents and now watching ‘Last Man Standing’ with my own family, thank you for the memories and all the laughs. My favorite version of family time!” someone else added—and we concur!

Another user added, "This is the very definition of bitter/sweet. I’m sad it has come to an end, however I’m most appreciative you brought us along allowed us to experience a small part. I’m also happy that you, the cast, and production crew could put it to bed the right way. Thanks!"

We can’t wait to see what Tim does next!
