Tim Allen and daughter Elizabeth

Tim Allen's daughter is in the family business.

Elizabeth Allen-Dick joined her father's Santa Clause franchise playing the Toy Story star's onscreen daughter Sandra in the Disney+ series The Santa Clauses. As for whether she could envision a role for herself on a reboot of her dad's beloved sitcom Home Improvement, the actress exclusively told Parade, "I don't even know. I mean, I love that show so much."

However, dad Tim came up with an idea. "Well, if one of the boys [Brad, Randy or Mark] got married and they had a kid," he said. "Cause it could be a granddaughter."

The Santa Clause actor added, "That's a really funny idea is if all the boys happen to have girls, so it was three girls. Wow. That was a weird idea."

Elizabeth made her acting debut in Season 1 of The Santa Clauses, which returned for its second season on Nov. 8. While Scott Calvin aka Santa is training his son Cal to eventually take over the “family business” in Season 2, Tim admitted to Parade that the holiday franchise turning into a real-life family business has been a "catastrophic blessing."

"I mean it was really by mistake," he explained. "I really just wanted as a surprise to her, have [Elizabeth] be an elf, so that she's in this series and wave at me, and as the union said, 'If she speaks, it has to go to SAG and we'd have to audition it.'"

Tim, who stayed out of the auditions "as much as possible," noted that his daughter "really drilled the part" that coincidentally was for Santa's daughter, and "it turned out to be a blessing."

New episodes of The Santa Clauses will be released Wednesdays through Dec. 6.
