Ho Ho Ho, get ready because Santa Claus is coming back to a TV near you. The beloved The Santa Clause trilogy is back, this time in the form of a television series. As a part of their Halfway to the Holidays campaign, Disney announced the new series, The Santa Clauses, is coming to Disney+ this holiday season. The series will pick up a few years after the third movie, The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Claus, left off.

Of course, some of our favorite characters from the trilogy will reprise their roles for the new spin off. Tim Allen, Toy Story, and Last Man Standing star, will be back as Santa Claus AKA Scott Calvin. Elizabeth Mitchell, who appeared in the second and third movies of the trilogy, will return as Mrs. Claus AKA Carol, and even David Krumholtz who plays Bernard the Elf will be back.

When Santa falls off his roof on Christmas Eve in the original 1994 film, Scott Calvin inherits the magic and, of course, the red suit and rosy cheeks. After navigating his new responsibilities with the help of his son Charlie in the first movie, Scott must find the Mrs. to his Claus in the second movie, and Elizabeth Mitchell joins the franchise. In the third and final movie, Scott must fight Jack Frost to keep the North Pole form becoming a tourist attraction.

The spin-off picks up as Santa Claus is nearing his 65th birthday and, well, he just can't keep up like he used to. As his Santa magic starts to slip away, he must find himself a replacement. If that's not already enough to worry about, he'll also have to prepare his family for life outside of the North Pole. In the series, Scott has two children Cal and Sandra who have spent their entire lives living at the North Pole. Cal will be played by Austin Kane and Tim Allen's real-life daughter Elizabeth Allen Dick will play Sandra. In addition, Kal Penn, best known for his role in Designated Survivor, will play Simon Choski, a single father who visits the North Pole with his daughter Grace (Rupali Redd). Santa will also have two new elves by his side, Noel played by Devin Bright and Betty played by Matilda Lawler.

The new series was announced in January and started filming in March of this year. So far, no release date has been announced, but we're assuming it will come out some time around Christmas. In the meantime you can watch all three movies in The Santa Clause trilogy on Disney+.
