TikTokers have gone back into the archives and found lyrics from Lizzo that allegedly insinuate that the recent harassment allegations against the “Truth Hurts” singer are true.

Lizzo, as well as her dance captain and production company, is currently being sued by three of her former dancers, with one of them claiming they were weight-shamed and the other two alleging they were forced into nude photo shoots. One also says she was nearly assaulted by Lizzo, according to Yahoo Entertainment.

Certain dancers were also reportedly subjected to racial harassment by Lizzo’s production company, Big Grrrl Big Touring Inc.

Social media users reacted in a variety of ways upon hearing the news, and some began to dig into Lizzo’s discography. While listening to her music, many people came across a set of lyrics from the singer’s 2021 song “Rumors,” featuring Cardi B, that they said felt like a warning about her current situation.

In the song, Lizzo references a lawsuit by singing, “NDA, no loose lips/Now them h*** tryna sue me/B****, I don’t give two s****/All the rumors are true, yeah.”

Amid the lawsuit — even with some of the alleged events taking place after the 2021 song was released — TikTokers are pointing out the irony of Lizzo singing those words two years ago.

“This song aged like milk left out in the sun on a hot summer day,” wrote @danferdo.

TikTokers weren’t the only ones to react to the accusations against Lizzo. Beyoncé, who’s currently on her Renaissance tour, allegedly skipped over Lizzo’s name during the Queens remix of “Break My Soul,” which she typically includes.

Many people also took this opportunity to suggest that Lizzo allegedly put herself on a long list of artists who potentially incriminated themselves with lyrics from their songs. Rappers such as Tay-K and YNW Melly are recent examples of artists who’ve had their lyrics used against them in court.

“And y’all say she not a rapper! Here she go snitching on herself like all rappers do,” wrote @sohosultry.

However, although the lyrics may sway the court of public opinion, the legal courts can’t lean on them to come to a decision — at least in the Golden State. In 2022, California Governor Gavin Newsom signed a bill stating that lyrics and music videos can’t be used in court against artists without judicial review first.

Lizzo has yet to release a statement regarding the situation, despite social media continuing to react to the allegations.
