TikToker shares how much money he actually makes: ‘2022 is the year of transparency’
An influencer shared how much money he made in six weeks through TikTok.
Brandon Edelman has over 198,000 followers, with whom he shares funny content and vlogs. He declared that “2022 is the year of transparency” and revealed how much money he makes with his TikTok notoriety. With most people mystified by how content creators earn what can be a ton of money, Edelman’s post is a breath of fresh air.

In fact, according to Forbes, TikTok’s most-followed influencer, Charli D’Amelio, earned $17.5 million in 2021, with her sister Dixie D’Amelio earning $10 million. But these are the two highest earners on the entire platform. So what’s it like when you have a solid following but not anywhere near the 189 million followers the D’Amelio sisters have combined?
“You can make money off TikTok when you hit 10,000 followers, and you can join the Creator Fund,” he explained. “Obviously, it’s not that much money. It all depends on how [many] views and likes your videos get. So it is very inconsistent.”
Just like the D’Amelios, who have earned big paydays from their Hollister clothing brand, Hulu reality series and other sponsorship deals, Edelman said that most of an influencer’s potential earnings come from outside revenue. According to Forbes, around 30% to 50% of creators’ income comes from brand partnerships, with some influencers making $250,000 per post.

“The bulk of your money will come from brand deals and brand sponsorships,” he revealed.
In the past 90 days, Edelman has partnered with the brands Amazon Alexa, MyFaceSocks.com and GoPuff. He also did a dating show with Snackapp called Taste of Love, hosted a local event in Philadelphia and has a profile on Cameo.
“Between all these brand partnerships and the TikTok Creator Fund, I made $10,500 in the past month and a half,” Edelman said. “That is over double what I make in a month at my 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. job.”
When someone asked how he was able to snag all of these deals, Edelman responded, “Just being myself and making funny videos.”
Other TikTokers praised the creator for his honesty.
