TikToker shares Dollar Tree food hack to stretch money before payday: ‘Your meals have saved us’

One woman’s clever Dollar Tree hacks are helping TikTokers everywhere stretch a buck while still eating well — and her ideas are going viral.

A TikTok user and money-saving guru, @DollarTreeDinners, gained over 4.5 million views, 517,000 likes, 63,000 saves and 2,700 comments when she shared how to make $10 last for three days.

Now, much like the family who figured out how to eat for free in amusement and water parks, @DollarTreeDinners‘ video is a viral money-saving sensation.

No matter what stage of life you’re at — studying in college, living on your own for the first time, raising a family, happily retired or somewhere in-between — eating well on a budget can sometimes be a challenge.

But now, thanks to @DollarTreeDinners, TikTokers are finding that there are ways to eat filling, balanced meals without breaking the proverbial bank — all thanks to food found at Dollar Tree.

In one of her more viral videos, @DollarTreeDinners breaks down how to make $10 go a long way when waiting for that direct deposit to hit. In the caption, she provides a full cost breakdown for everything purchased in her video:

“1 dozen eggs $1.25
1 loaf of bread $1.25
Smoked sausage $1.25
Broccoli $1.25
Cheddar Broccoli Rice Side $1.25
Refried beans (or a can of chili) $1.25
Spanish rice side $1.25
Flour Tortillas $1.25

Total cost $10″

TikTokers rushed to the comments to thank @DollarTreeDinners for her money-saving ideas.

“Your meals have saved us so many times from living paycheck to paycheck,” wrote user @gawgasarah.

“I love your content! You’re providing such a wonderful service to those on a tight budget. Or those who are just cheap like me. 😂” shared @marriedbymegan.

“Thank you for making these videos. Especially during the times in which we are living in!!! 🥰🥰” commented @tubbsofstuff.

But @DollarTreeDinners‘ good ideas don’t stop there. In another popular video, she shared how to meal-prep breakfast for six days, using her recipe for Dollar Tree breakfast enchiladas.

In another video, @DollarTreeDinners revealed how she manages to make a date-night dinner and dessert, all for just $15.

“My goal with sharing these special themed dinners [is] to give you ideas and inspiration. … Even at a store like Dollar Tree or on a tight budget, you can still enjoy holidays and date nights with a few creative choices,” she explains in the video.

“dude this has helped me n the family so much! I love your videos ty for making them!” commented @wolfy52793.

“These videos are so helpful for those on a dollar tree budget 🥹” wrote @unrinsed_soup.
