TikToker creates elaborate PowerPoint presentation to describe stages of relationships: ‘If you are actively going on dates with someone, that is dating’
The debate on TikTok about how to describe stages of dating continues to rage on.
TikToker (@ohmontaine) posted a video describing how he views the stages of dating. To him, going on dates without a title is seeing someone, while an official boyfriend/girlfriend relationship is dating.
Some people agreed, and some disagreed, but one TikToker stitched his video with a detailed PowerPoint of why Montaine’s stance was incorrect.
Charlotte W (@welcometothepeasantparty) regularly provides dating commentary on TikTok and is known for making elaborate PowerPoint presentations to explain her stances.
When it came to Montaine’s definition of dating, she used her slideshow to tell him why she thought he was wrong.
Charlotte breaks the timeline into three major categories: The talking stage, dating and then an established, committed relationship.
“If you are actively going on dates with someone, that is dating,” she said. “It is not just boyfriend/girlfriend. That is an established, committed relationship once you have had the define the relationship conversation.”
She also provided synonyms for the established part of a relationship, listing “in a relationship,” “together” and “partner.”
Her response to Montaine was just one of her many PowerPoint-focused videos. She’s given advice about how to let a person down easily, the concept of high-value dating and even if at-home dates truly count.
Her theory on what to label the relationship seemed fairly accepted by the comment section as well.
“Someone finally shared these universally unspoken definitions in a ppt so it’s clear cut,” said @sherineabraham.
While there is a lot of agreement, the discourse about dating is a never-ending process. The good news is that now there’s a clear presentation to reference.
