TikTok Video Shows McDonald's Customer Finding Disgusting Surprise in McFlurry

Regardless of how streamlined fast food chains operate, there is always the possibility of human error causing your meal to arrive in less than ideal condition. To that point, a McDonald's customer received an unpleasant surprise in her McFlurry soft serve dessert, which she and her friend documented in a gag-inducing TikTok video that has since gone viral.

"IT WAS SO ON PURPOSE LIKE FOLDED SO SMALL," all-caps proclaimed TikTok user kekebobeke captioned the 29-second video, posted to the platform earlier this month. "At the bottom, its a literal trash bag or something," she added, tagging McDonald’s with a plea for help.

"We have no idea what she just found at the bottom of her McFlurry, I'm losing my mind," added text overlaid on the video," which showed her friend pulling out what seemed to be a length of magician's scarves in plastic bag form, covered in ice cream. At two girls laughed through their apparent gag reflexes, the one filming shrieked: "I'm gonna pee! Can we sue?"

The video has since been viewed nearly two million times. And although McDonald's has not publicly weighed in, some former employees attempted to solve the mystery in the comments.

"I worked at McDonald's, it’s the ice cream liquid bag you're supposed to dump it in, [I guess] they threw the bag in too," one commenter suggested. "That’s literally the bag for the tops to the McFlurries, I’m pretty sure someone probably stuffed it in a cup instead of throwing it out," another offered. "I used to work there it's the sleeve the cups come in," a third added.

In either case, while that's not what most people would prefer to find in their McFlurry, the ice cream dispensers as McDonald's are still ostensibly safer than your average fast food soda dispenser, which showed signs of contamination in over 40 percent of samples from a recent study. Perhaps this is why McDonald's has decided to do away with self-serve soda dispensers.

Yet, it's unclear what steps can be taken to prevent plastic bags from turning up in McFlurries, though.
