TikTok unveils first ever Visionary Voices list during Black History Month

In honor of Black History Month, TikTok has unveiled its first-ever Visionary Voices list. The app highlights 15 personalities across three different categories (Creators, Industry Disruptors and Small Business Owners) in order to shine a light on their impact on the community and overall culture.

“We’re thrilled to kick off our celebration of Black History Month by unveiling our first-ever Visionary Voices list, honoring some of the most brilliant, trendsetting creators, changemakers and small businesses across #BlackTikTok,” Shavone Charles, TikTok’s head of diversity and inclusion communications, told In The Know by Yahoo. “This Black History Month and year-round, we’re proud to celebrate the collective brilliance and visionary impact of our Black creator community.”

In addition to the Visionary Voices list, TikTok has designated hashtags within the app to provide a space for Black creators to receive praise, such as #BlackTikTok, #BlackGirlMagic and #SupportBlack.

Here are the Visionary Voices TikTok is celebrating for “making an impact and raising the bar in media and entertainment.”
