I always loved Marilyn Monroe when I was young. And then I started dressing vintage. It was around five years ago. She had like amazing style I would say, but the one thing is definitely like the pencil dresses and pencil skirts. I was just like, OK, I really want to dress and wear those every day.

I didn't go in with the intention of dressing or looking like Marilyn Monroe at all. I just was so open, like, I just want to dress that way and how the old Hollywood actresses would dress. And that's kind of where it started. And I think after a while I noticed a lot of people were saying to me, oh my goodness, you look so much like Marilyn Monroe. And it kind of just started from there. I started with doing like different fashion things on my social medias. And I'm really just trying to see what's new, different trends, and see how I can incorporate that with how I dress.

The pieces that I decided to show in my videos are some that I feel that a lot of people might like, like a pencil skirt or a white blouse, just things that you can still get today from a modern store and how you can just make it look vintage. Now that I'm pregnant, I'm finding that a lot of my vintage clothes, there's no stretch. So I've be looking into dresses and things like that that have at least some stretch in it and keeping it in a vintage way. I would love to dress the baby at least sometimes in a little bit of vintage stuff. Once they get older, I'll let them dress whatever way they want to dress. I'm not going to force them into dressing vintage.

My favorite vintage pieces are Spanx.

Wait, wait, wait, maybe corsets, maybe corsets. Headscarf, the push-up bra, wiggle dress, bold red lips, cat eye sunglasses, stilettos, cigarette pants, slips, blonde.

What makes the '50s so special to me? I think it was the glamour that came with the '50s and also red lipstick. I love red lipstick and I always wanted to be able to wear red lipstick when I was younger, I just didn't have the confidence to do so.

So with my hair it's like, it was a challenge. I tried to curl it and it just went straight. I just I tried everything and it just didn't work. So I watched a lot of YouTube just to see how they would do their hair and none of them actually worked for me. So I actually found this old 1950s and 1940s pincurling guide and I just read through it and I worked very hard to try and do it with my hair. And now I just pincurl my hair. So I just roll it up and use some bobby pins and pin into place. It's like 15 minutes at night and then like five minutes in the morning. And then that's it, it's done. But yes, a lot of hairspray and no heat.

It took me some time to build the confidence to dress vintage outside of my house. And then I was like, do you know what? Like this is the way I want to dress. I have to just, you know, just build my confidence up and just do it and just walk out and just act as if like I'm just dressing normally like everybody else. I always say that if you want to dress any way you want, to do it and just be who you are. And I think that's amazing.
