TikTok star grabs Disney’s attention with his ‘brilliant’ superhero transformations: ‘Hire this man!’

20-year-old Julian Bass was just a regular college student a few weeks ago. Now, he’s fielding messages from studio executives and A-list actors.

The phenomenon all started when Bass, who is currently a student at Georgia State University in Atlanta, shared a clip on TikTok that showed off some of his video editing skills.

His video, which has been viewed more than 6.5 million times in the past week, shows Bass “transforming” into several of his favorite superheroes and movie characters. Through some impressive visual effects, he manages to turn himself into a Jedi, Spider-Man and Ben 10, the shapeshifting hero from the Cartoon Network show of the same name.

The video made its way to Twitter, where it gained even more attention (22.5 million views and counting), including the eyes of some very famous and powerful people.

“If y’all can retweet this enough times that Disney calls, that’d be greatly appreciated,” Bass tweeted when sharing the video.

It seems as though his call for help worked. Mark Hamill, a.k.a Luke Skywalker, responded with praise. Comedy group The Lonely Island said they’d forwarded the video “to Disney.” Even “Frozen” star Josh Gad weighed in.

“Hire this man, Gunn,” former “Scrubs” star Zach Braff tweeted at director James Gunn, who is responsible for the “Guardians of the Galaxy” films. Gunn, meanwhile, responded with his own show of admiration.

Perhaps the biggest response of all came from Bob Iger, who served as Disney’s CEO for the past 14 years and now works as the company’s current executive chairman.

“The world’s gonna know your name!!!” Iger tweeted excitedly.

Bass, seeing his opportunity, responded to tell Iger they should chat on the phone. It’s unclear if that ever happened, but the 20-year-old might not need the connection anymore anyway.

The college student told Time he’s been hearing from casting directors and talent agents over the past week, adding that he’s optimistic something great could come from his viral video.

“Only thing for me to do now is continue to create, filter some phone calls, and hedge my bet to be your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man,” he told Time.
