TikTok is cracking up at this college student’s graduation photos: ‘The tongue one killed me’

College graduation can be an exciting moment for many people, and podcaster and aspiring comedian Julia Leahy (@morepestoplease) captured the milestone in her life with some official graduation photos — which revealed a few surprises that have TikTok cracking up.

Now, much like the bride who was shocked when she got her wedding photos back and realized she forgot to use her “soft smile,” Julia’s video proves that expectations can be very different than reality when it comes to photo shoots.

Leahy, who graduated from Fordham University, shared the unedited versions of her college graduation photos, noting that the moment was “very exciting” and a “bit shocking,” considering the fact that she’s still eating Frozen mac-and-cheese for dinner.

She detailed that some of her photos, taken by Autumn Chapman (@autchap), were “not the worst” and received “honorable mention.”

For instance, in one photo, her hands appeared stiff and doll-like, she accidentally groped her friend’s “badonk” in another, and a series of photos showed her getting sprayed with a champagne stream directly into her eyes.

But the final photo turned out to be the one that is sending laughs through TikTokers everywhere.

Leahy explained that her mom had recently told her to stop “mischievously sticking out” her tongue because “it’s unattractive.”

“And I was like, ‘Okay, I don’t know what you mean,’” Leahy said in the video before the big reveal before admitting: “I do believe that this is what she means.”

“‘I do believe this is what she means’ has me in TEARS,” commented @cryptidasf.

“NOTHING COULD HAVE PREPARED ME FOR THE TONGUE,” said @dinosaur.pancakes.

Fordham University has a gallery of social media photos featuring graduates of the school, but so far, Leahy’s does not seem to have made the cut.

However, Leahy did note in her caption that she plans on having the “tongue one framed,” so it may live on in infamy after all.

“You need to frame the tongue one for your mom as a gift,” suggested @jess.daniellexo.

Leahy’s website also explains that she “loves making people laugh” and “her hope is that you get a chuckle out of whatever shenanigans she finds herself in.”

And based on the 5 million views her TikTok has received thus far, it does appear that Leahy has succeeded in accomplishing just that.

“I’m laughing so hard at the tongue photo!” wrote @peyt2019.
