It's almost daylight savings time, which means we're all about to spend more hours in the sun. If you’re in the market for a new sunscreen, there’s a good chance you’ve come across the popular Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen from the iconic sunscreen brand. It makes sense why so many beauty lovers like this product, as its gel formula is weightless and oil-free, so it goes on easily while providing UV protection from the sun's harmful rays.

However, at almost $40 per 1.7-ounce bottle, it can be a bit pricey for many shoppers. Luckily, TikTok creator Kahina Jean-Baptiste (@selfcarecoka) recently posted a video showing a super similar, yet less expensive alternative to Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen: Sun Bum Daily 50 Face Gel.

In the video, Jean-Baptiste explains that the Sun Bum Daily 50 Face Gel is sold for $20 for a 1.7 oz. bottle, while Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen is priced at $38 for the same amount.

Jean-Baptiste mentions other benefits of the Sun Bum option, including the difference in SPF. While Unseen Sunscreen is SPF 40, Daily 50 Face Gel is SPF 50. It's also water resistant for 80 minutes, while Unseen Sunscreen taps in at 40 minutes.

When Jean-Baptiste did a side-by-side comparison by applying the Sun Bum product on one arm and Supergoop on the other, you can see the difference in residue and sheen. It appears that Unseen Sunscreen was harder to rub in the skin completely, while the Daily 50 Face Gel absorbed right away, and Jean-Baptiste says the “texture is absolutely to die for.”

"Oh I needs,” one commenter said. Another asked if the Sun Bum option irritates your eyes, to which Jean-Baptiste replied that there was “no stinging or burning.”

Whether you're historically a Supergoop super fan or not, Sun Bum seems like a top sunscreen option to try out and see what you think for yourself.
