Tiffany Haddish Is Single and Ready to Mingle

She’s the first to crack jokes about hitting on Hollywood’s hottest eligible bachelors (watch out, Leonardo DiCaprio), but Tiffany Haddish has kept her current dating life pretty much under wraps.

The 38-year-old has opened up about her romantic past, revealing in her memoir, The Last Black Unicorn, that she married her ex-husband twice. However, she ultimately left the relationship due to physical abuse. The violence was so bad, that she once suffered a miscarriage after an altercation; at the time, she hadn’t even known she was pregnant.

Another time, she writes, she suffered abuse before a crowd of people after her ex became enraged seeing her speak with another male comedian at a show.

"He grabbed me by the collar, he was like, ‘It’s time to go to the room now,’ in front of everybody,” she wrote, according to BET. “Just snatched me by my shirt, and pulled me to the elevator and threw me in it ... Once we got to our hotel room, he was so quick. He snatched me by the neck and slammed me into the wall."

The marriage didn’t last, but Haddish shared a touching throwback Instagram from her wedding day—which she called “one of the Happiest Days of my life”—thanks to her father.

“That was the day I learned that dreams do come true,” she wrote. “I didn't know my father growing up, and I used to work Bat mitzvahs and weddings and whenever the father and daughter dance happen I would get so jealous because I thought that would never happen for me. Then I met a man that said he would make my Dream come true of my father walking down the aisle and Dancing with my Daddy.”

“My X husband did just that. Even though my Dad didn't want me to get married he stood right by my side. I cried so hard when we danced because there I was in my Daddy's arms,” she continued.

While promoting the episode of SNL she hosted back in November, Haddish revealed that she’s open to a new relationship. “I just want someone who’s better than me. That I can learn from,” she said on air with the Breakfast Club, according to Page Six. “You know, credit score better than mine, work ethic better than mine, just be a dope example to me,” she said. Other requirements for her dream date? He’ll optimally have no kids, be able to read her mind, and give her back massages on demand.

Take note, men.
