Tiffany Haddish laid her emotions and thoughts bare in a new interview, opening up about suffering her eighth miscarriage recently and further fertility difficulties.

The Haunted Mansion actress spoke with The Washington Post soon after she suffered a miscarriage, telling a nurse, “Well, I’m going to be honest with you. This would be my eighth one. I’ve got a uterus shaped like a heart. It just won’t keep anything in.”

Haddish has tried to have children and faced fertility issues for a long time, although she has only recently begun publicly discussing the topic.

She touched on why she only talks to certain people about her miscarriages, saying, "I don’t want people saying: ‘Are you okay? Are you all right?' Like a wounded animal, I just rather go in a cave by myself. Lick my wounds.”

The 43-year-old spoke further on the topic with Rachel Bilson for her Broad Ideas podcast, noting the emotional impact the miscarriages had on her: “I had a lot of miscarriages. That has a lot to do with the endometriosis and misdiagnosis and all that stuff. Those miscarriages were as painful as a motherf----r. I feel like a piece of my soul died every time."

"I don’t know if I am capable and I feel like that was God’s birth control [telling me], ‘He is not the one. That is not who you are supposed to be having a baby with,'" added Haddish.

She shared how, as she dealt with fertility issues, she also considered adoption. Haddish even took parenting classes last year to prepare, but she remains unsure, revealing to The Washington Post that her busy career makes her pause.

Along with Haunted Mansion, Haddish starred in the film Landscape with Invisible Hand and the TV series The Afterparty this year, with a couple of other projects already in the works.

Haddish continues to speak honestly about her personal life and struggles, although, in her recent discussion about her past miscarriages, she didn't share her decision regarding any future plans to start a family.
