For some of the world's most elite travelers, making up for lost travel was a post-pandemic necessity. So, when the Regent Seven Seas announced its 2024 World cruise—a 132-night voyage around the globe—there was an unprecedented amount of interest. Unsurprisingly, the tour sold out in just under three hours. The catch? Each ticket costs upwards of $73,000 a person.

"With a waitlist longer than we have ever experienced, we knew that the 2024 World Cruise was going to be popular, but this outstanding response has surpassed all expectations and is without a doubt our strongest world cruise launch day ever," said Jason Montague, president and chief executive officer of Regent Seven Seas Cruises in a statement.

Tickets were made available on July 14 at 8:30 am EST. By 11:00 am EST, the nearly five-month-long luxury voyage was completely booked, according to a press release. This breaks the company’s world cruise opening day booking record. While it's not clear how many tickets were available, fares started at $73,499 per guest for a Deluxe Veranda Suite and up to $199,999 per guest for a Master Suite, so how quickly the cruise sold out is pretty astounding.

But passengers are certainly getting their money's worth. With stops at 66 ports in 31 countries and four continents across the five-month journey, voyagers are guaranteed a front-row seat to the world. The cruise will offer 442 free shore excursions with access to 61 different UNESCO World Heritage sites—the most the cruise line has ever visited on a single tour. In addition, all tickets include free first-class airfare, an exclusive pre-cruise gala with a one-night stay at a luxury hotel in Miami, exclusive shoreside experiences, free door-to-door luggage service and laundry, a comprehensive visa package, 12 in-port overnight stays, and crossings of both the Panama Canal and Suez Canal.

"For our guests, the 2024 World Cruise represents so much more than just a cruise vacation—it’s a return to a normality," Montague says. "We cannot wait to host luxury travelers who are eager to explore the world, very soon, while enjoying the unrivaled Regent experience."
