  • Tia Mowry-Hardict, 42, opened up about aging in a new interview with Today.

  • The Sister, Sister star shared that she’s embracing her natural gray hair.

  • Mowry has been posting photos of her grays to Instagram since August.

Tia Mowry-Hardict is all about embracing her natural hair. On Thursday, the 42-year-old actress opened up to Today about why she’s deciding to go gray this year.

“Basically, I’m all about authenticity,” she explained. “However, I look at the moment, that’s what I’m going to share.”

“I’m not about hiding who I am,” she continued. The mom of nine-year-old Cree and two-year-old Cairo also noted that she did not hesitate to show off her postpartum body after gaining 70 pounds with Cairo. “I’m all about wanting to change the narrative that people think they need to be perfect. Growing older is a blessing.”

In early August, Mowry first debuted her natural, gray curls on Instagram. “This is Me. 42 🙏🏽,” she wrote in the caption.

Fans absolutely loved her confidence. “Elegant beauty!” one person commented. “I love your hair so much! 😍” another added.

The actress told Today she was overwhelmed with the positive responses she’s gotten from fans. “I didn’t know the photo was going to make such an impact,” she said. “But yeah, it’s about me being myself, and who I am. We’re not all perfect, and it’s OK to be you, and who you are.”

In October, Mowry also opened up about her hair routine, sharing some products she’s been loving for her curls. “First, I’m going to wash my hair with Camille Rose Sweet Ginger Cleansing Rinse,” she said in the IGTV. “What I love about this shampoo is it doesn’t strip your hair.”

After rinsing her hair, she puts in a leave-in conditioner, Camille Rose’s Curl Love Moisture Milk, which is made with rice milk. Then, she styles her hair with the Camille Rose Curl Maker.

Although Mowry recently rocked a caramel blonde bob on Instagram, it’s clear she’s all about embracing her confidence—and she looks stunning no matter what!
