Tia Blanco Surfs Kelly Slater's Wavepool Two Months After Having Baby with Brody Jenner (Video)

Tia Blanco, mostly former yet occasionally still professional surfer, recently popped out a baby with reality TV star, Brody Jenner – a girl, named Honey Raye Jenner.

And while pregnancy put her surfing career on the back-burner, Tia has now resumed her wave-riding pursuits (sans jersey) just two months and change after giving birth.

What better place to get back on the wagon board than Kelly Slater’s Surf Ranch?

In the clip above, Tia showed her first wave back at the Lemoore, CA wavepool, where she once competed in the now-canceled ABC show, The Ultimate Surfer.

Captioning the clip, she wrote:

“Mama’s first wave back @kswaveco !!! 😭😭😭 after about 7 months of not short boarding, this was a real treat… the stoke is real 💜❤️‍🔥💜 I have a whole new love/appreciation for surfing & it makes the experience all that much sweeter to have my little family to come in to 🙏 thank you @raimanaworld for the coaching 🥳🥳 #relax & huge shoutout to my baby daddy @brodyjenner for holding it down with Honey while Mom had some fun 👊🏽 wow, that was fun! / Purple 👙 set from my @jolynclothing collection”

A “new love/appreciation for surfing,” she says? Could this mean a return to competition? Her last appearance in the jersey was as a wildcard on the Championship Tour back in 2022, where she competed in Portugal, El Salvador, and South Africa.

And for someone in the midst of postpartum, not to mention not riding a shortboard, as she mentioned, for seven months, she’s not looking too bad.

Raimana, the Surf Ranch’s resident (and highly persistent) wave guru can be heard coaching Tia along in the clip:

“Yeah! Relax, relax. Yeah! Hit it. Yeah. Hit it! One more. Stay low, come back. Right there. Keep going. Stay low. Right there. Park it. PARK IT! Yeaahhhhhh! [Laughs hysterically.] Ohhh, Tia. Good work, Tia!”

Kelly Slater, too, who’s recovering from hip surgery, was stoked to see Tia back in the water:

“Congrats to Tia Blanco and Brody Jenner for the new bub, and glad to see Tia shredding Surf Ranch again! Welcome home.”
