Throwback arcade ‘Super Rad Bar and Arcade’ bringing classic games and drinks to Lynchburg

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR)– A new throwback arcade and bar, ‘Super Rad Bar and Arcade,’ opened up in Lynchburg on Saturday, April 27.

The new arcade has two floors with over 50 classic games, including Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, and Tetris, while guests can also snack on classic arcade eats. The games are restored using their original parts, bringing back the arcade feeling many grew up with.

Along with the games, the arcade will host specialized events. This includes the first of a weekly air hockey tournament starting at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 2.

By opening up in Lynchburg, Super Rad wants to ensure that present and future generations get to experience what it’s like walking into an arcade.

“We are just getting started we’ve got more games coming,” said Calvin Hoskins with the arcade. “We’re hoping to get pinball in here, we’re going to get a lot of classic games and then we’re looking in the future to get a lot more newer games as well.”

The arcade will be open Thursdays-Mondays from Noon to 1 a.m. After 8 p.m., guests must be over 21 to enter.
