Three U.S. Restaurants Made The 2022 World's Best List
Brace yourselves. The best of the best in fine dining has just been revealed with the announcement of the annual World's 50 Best Restaurants list.
Three restaurants in the U.S. are among the establishments considered the crème de la crème of global fine dining. Those spots are Atomix and Le Bernardin in New York City and SingleThread in Healdsburg, California. The latter is a farm, restaurant, and inn.
The restaurant taking home the coveted number-one spot on the list is Geranium in Copenhagen, Denmark. Described as "lucid, light and dynamic," Geranium prides itself on crafting meals that speak to the senses. Among the restaurant's past and present dishes are a turbot stuffed with langoustine and lightly smoked lumpfish roe, with layers of milk, kale, and apple.
So, what does it take for a restaurant to make the esteemed list? According to the FAQs on The World's 50 Best Restaurants website, "The list is the result of a poll of 1,080 independent experts, who each cast 10 votes for establishments where they have enjoyed their best restaurant experiences during the previous 18 months." Additionally, restaurants cannot apply to be on the list, and no sponsor has any influence on the voting process.
