Three-year-old's unusual Halloween costume request stumps mom: 'Quetzalcoatlus, you're right!'

A 3-year-old’s very specific Halloween costume request left his mother stumped — until she finally figured it out.

When a toddler asks for a “Quetzalcoatlus costume,” unless you’re an expert in extinct species, it’s probably going to sound like baby babble. TikTok mom @sierramiller086 deciphered her son’s complex costume request and got the best reaction from the dino-loving kid.

With just $1,000 and one day, this Harlem bedroom gets a brand new look:

“My 3-year-old has been trying to tell me that he wants to be a Quetzalcoatlus for Halloween, and I finally figured out what he was saying,” the caption read.

She printed out a photo of a Quetzalcoatlus and showed it to her son.

“This is what you’re talking about?” the mom asked.

“Yeah! Quetzalcoatlus, you’re right!” he said.

He asked to hold the photo and looked at it in pure awe. He examined it in great detail satisfied that mom figured it out. The toddler explained that Quetzalcoatlus go on buildings, have nests on buildings and are the color red.

“Yeah! This is what I’m talking about!” he cheered.

According to the Smithsonian, the Quetzalcoatlus was the largest flying creature ever to live. The animal, discovered about 50 years ago, belongs to the pterosaur family, a group of flying reptiles.

It has a 40-foot wingspan, a long neck and beak, and is around the size of a giraffe. The aerial reptiles dwelled in forests in now-Texas more than 70 million years ago.

The adorable video racked up 7.5 million views on TikTok.

“It’s funny because he’s actually pronouncing it perfectly, but it sounds like a made-up kid word,” someone replied.

“He says it perfectly, but I have no idea what he is talking about. Haha,” a person said.

“My 3-year-old wants to be a real door with a working doorbell for Halloween,” a user joked.

“The moment of being understood,” a TikToker commented.

“The way his face lights up and the way he stares so intensely at the picture as if he’s studying it and appreciating it,” another wrote.

He was, in fact, able to get his Halloween Quetzalcoatlus costume, which he started to wear every day. (The precocious little guy did note some minor inaccuracies, however.)
