The free event featured live music from Touching Voodoo, a silent auction, dog contests and lots of furry fun. All proceeds from the event will go toward the Amarillo Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) to care for animals in the area.

“We were beyond thrilled with the enthusiastic support from the public who came out to enjoy the event while benefiting animals,” Mary Ramirez of the ASPCA said. “Partners like the Starlight Ranch, The Eagle Radio, Rudy’s Bar-B-Q and so many others made this possible. This 30th year of the event was our biggest and best yet. Seeing people come out and enjoy themselves with their dogs was exciting. This event keeps our doors open to pay for dog and cat food and vet care for our animals at our no-kill shelter."

Bobby Lee, co-owner of the Starlight Ranch, was incredibly pleased with the turnout and support for the Amarillo SPCA.

“This was the best organized Muttfest that we have hosted,” Lee said. “The Amarillo SPCA does so much good for the animals of the Texas Panhandle region. It feels good to see these people come out and support animals. This event is a personal favorite of mine, and anytime I can do anything for the Amarillo SPCA, I am more than willing and glad to do it.”
