The New 'Thor: Love and Thunder' Trailer Unveils Gorr the God Butcher

Thor: Love and Thunder has released another action-packed trailer ahead of its release this summer.

Featuring Chris Hemsworth as the Asgardian Avenger who seemingly hangs up his hammer to do some serious soul-searching, this fourth Thor entry in the MCU upgrades Natalie Portman's Jane Foster to superhero status as The Mighty Thor.

However, the new trailer also shares the first glimpse of Christian Bale in the upcoming film as Gorr the God Butcher.

The new menacing villain is seen giving a stark warning in the trailer as he announces that "all gods will die."

The movie's co-writer/director Taika Waititi also features in the trailer, returning as the lovable Korg who kicks things off by telling his kids about Thor's previous adventures.

Similarly, fans are treated to more footage of Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie and Russell Crowe's Zeus.

In true Marvel fashion, Thor: Love and Thunder's new trailer ends with a comical moment that sees Hemsworth's Thor stripped naked, causing many of those around him to faint.

In January this year, Thompson detailed her comic book character's "quite erotic" superpowers.

She has weird skills, to be honest," said Thompson "She can sense when someone is close to death, and she takes them into Valhalla, which is essentially the afterlife. She can revive people. But when she revives people, sometimes she ends up in their body. It's a weird thing. It can be quite erotic. And then she has superhuman strength and is essentially God."

Thor: Love and Thunder has a release date of July 8. The other three Thor movies are available to stream now on Disney+.
