Thomas Rhett Atkins had his fans in mind for his latest collaboration, but it was his family and love for the outdoors that was the driving force behind it.

The "Die a Happy Man" singer is once again teaming up with the footwear brand Chaco after last year's successful Boulder collection. Country Living caught up with the singer to hear more about his passion that inspired his latest collaboration, and of course, we had to ask if we're getting the "Side B" to his Country Again: Side A album.

For the love of the great outdoors

Since owning his first pair of Chacos in high school, the shoe has become a staple for Rhett and a mainstay during some of his favorite memories outdoors. Inspired by his love of nature, his latest collection builds on a big passion of his. No, not music. Fishing! "I have really special memories growing up fishing with my dad. My family and I have been obsessed with Chacos since I was a kid, so this is pretty full circle for me," he tells Country Living.

As a hobby that even his daughters have picked up on, it only made sense for Thomas Rhett to dedicate some of his proceeds to foundations that protect the great outdoors for future generations. Fans will be pleased to know that a portion of proceeds for adult shoes go to Trout Unlimited while a portion of the proceeds for kids shoes are dedicated to Love One International. As someone who describes being in nature as "the most peaceful and zen feeling in the world," Rhett's Chaco collaboration emphasizes his belief that "we have a responsibility to protect what gives us so much in return."

When the latest collab was announced on Instagram, it was no surprise that fans went wild. "I’m ready this time! Didn’t get any last time," one person said. "STOPPP! IM SO EXCITED!! TAKE MY MONEY NOW," another wrote.

With his brand-new album Where We Started, naturally we were curious to get a vibe check and find out which song from the album captures the essence of his collaboration with Chaco and his answer is the sweetest thing. He said, "Tough question, but I’ll say 'Bass Pro Hat.' It’s all about just spending time with my wife Lauren… for me, being out on the water with her are some of the most special moments and I'll still think about when we’re 70. And she’s been known to out fish me pretty often."

Speaking of new music...

After the release of Where We Started, fans were curious to know why Rhett didn't release a follow up to Country Again: Side A. We asked if we could expect a "Side B" and from the sounds of it, it may just be in the cards.

Here's what he had to say about it: "When I got back out on the road for the first time last year, I called some friends to write with me on tour and the songs quickly racked up to around 50. It was completely unexpected, but the direction of those songs felt like different project entirely—but one that we couldn’t wait to put out… so we did! But there are definitely a bunch of other songs that did feel like 'Side B' and still a few more we haven’t written yet, so they will definitely get their moment."
