Thomas Rhett Akin’s four daughters were incredibly lucky this year. Jolly old St. Nick brought them a highly-coveted Nintendo Switch. And while Willa Gray, 7 Ada James, 5, Lennon Love, 3, and Lillie Carolina, 2 should have been having a blast with the gaming console on Christmas Day, a very different demographic took over.

“Santa brought a Nintendo switch ‘for the kids,'” Rhett captioned a video on Instagram.

In the hilarious clip, he, his wife Lauren Akins, and two adult guests are in a heated game of Mario Kart. The girls, meanwhile, are nowhere to be found.

And we can’t tell if this is a plan gone horribly wrong or horribly right. Did Santa make a mistake thinking the Akins girls would want the toy? At the very least, Willa and Ada could be into it. Or was this the happiest of “accidents” that the adults ended up with a Switch?

Followers could totally relate to the country music star who will definitely be taking advantage of what the elves made for his girls.

“My husband and I have epic Mario Kart battles after the kids go to bed!” “Haha, same in our house!” “It’s always ‘for the kids’ 😭” “It’s like the candy tax at Halloween. Just have to test it out for the kids.”

So true! What kind of parents would they be if they didn’t make sure the Switch was in working order?!

On Christmas Eve, the “Die a Happy Man” singer revealed his Christmas card which featured a precious photo of his family of six outdoors. His daughters are all wearing matching red gingham dresses and silver cowgirl boots, and followers couldn’t get over how beautiful they all are.

Earlier this year, Rhett opened up about seeing his daughter Willa — who he and Lauren adopted from Uganda — for the first time. When he saw a photo of Lauren holding baby Willa at the orphanage, everything changed.

“I’ve always thought my wife is the most beautiful person I’ve ever seen in my life, but there was something about this picture that she was like, glowing man,” he said on Kevin Bacon’s podcast,  Six Degrees with Kevin Bacon. “And so was this baby, who I’d never met before, and I remember FaceTiming her that night and saying, ‘Who was that baby that you were holding?’”

Lauren shared that Willa — who was named “Blessing” at the orphanage — was six weeks old and had been there for a week.

“And my wife was just talking to me, like ‘We have to find a home for this child,’” Rhett continued. “And I’ll never forget it dude, it was 2 o’clock in the morning where I was half asleep, and it just kind of blurted out of my mouth: ‘We’re going to bring her home.’”

All without having met her and without necessarily knowing if he was ready to be a dad or what that would look like. A lot of the time, fatherhood looks like absolutely beautiful family photos and heart-melting moments for this girl dad. And sometimes, it looks like him hilariously taking advantage of Santa’s generosity.
