Thomas Rhett’s 3-Year-Old Made Him An Adorable Promise He’s Definitely Going to Hold Her To

Thomas Rhett is known for singing about hand-holding. In the country music singer’s award-winning song, “Die a Happy Man,” he insists that even if he never sees the northern lights or the Eiffel Tower at night, he could die a happy man so long as he’s got “your hand in [his] hand.” The song is about his wife Lauren Akins, but we imagine the same could be said about any of his four daughters. And so the girl dad must have been over the moon when his daughter Lennon Love made him a heartwarming promise on Thursday.

“Are you always gonna want to hold daddy’s hand?” he asked the 3-year-old in a video he shared on Instagram.

“Yeah,” she said while doing her best to balance his hat on her little head.

“You are?! Even when you’re like 15? 25?”

With each question, the sweet toddler gave a nod or a “yeah” until Rhett finally believed her and told “Lilo” he loves her. How stinkin’ cute is that nickname? Lennon Love. Lilo.

“Love you, daddy,” she said before walking off on a boardwalk toward the beach. She must have thought her dad was right behind her, but he just continued to film, probably soaking in the absolutely adorable moment.

“Going to hold her to this one,” he captioned the post, and we don’t blame him.

Commenters could not get over how sweet this little interaction was and how lucky he is to have video proof to show his daughter when she turns 15.

“Never let go ❤️,” one fan wrote.

“Oh my gosh! This is life! So precious! 💗,” another said.

You might think that the man who Variety magazine named “the most reliable maker of No. 1 singles in country music” would consider music to be the center of his universe, but he told SheKnows.com that his girls are his world. He and his high school sweetheart share three other daughters — Willa Gray, 7 who they adopted from Uganda in 2017, Ada James, 5, and Lillie Carolina, 1 — who we hope love holding their dad’s hand as much as their sister does.

“I feel like I was put on this earth to be a musician, but also to be a girl dad,” he told us. “And I have completely embraced it and I love it more than anything in the world. Those girls have my heart.”

These celebrity fathers are all proud to be “girl dads.
