This foundation is the secret to Julianne Moore's gorgeous complexion: 'I don't like a lot of coverage'
Julianne Moore is having quite the year. She was nominated in the Best Supporting Actress category at the Golden Globes and the Critics' Choice Movie Awards for her role in Netflix's May December. With all that time spent in a makeup chair for both movies and red carpets, the 63-year-old stunner is sure to know a thing or two about makeup.
Luckily, Moore has revealed a few of her favorite skin-care and makeup items in a Vogue "beauty secrets" video. While she expertly uses serums, balms and creams to prep her skin, the real hero of her routine turns out to be Hourglass Ambient Soft Glow Liquid Foundation.
In the video, Moore uses the liquid formula to start off her makeup. She describes it as "a really wonderful foundation" and applies about a pea-sized amount all over her face with the Hourglass Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Brush. According to the brand, this foundation offers 16 hours of wear and has buildable coverage. "I don't like a lot of coverage," Moore said. "I like to be able to see the freckles in my skin and the color in my skin, as well."

Hourglass says the foundation "minimizes the look of pores, fine lines, and wrinkles" thanks to the formula's blurring spheres, which leave skin glowing and obscure imperfections ("vanish" is in the product's name, after all). The foundation does an excellent job covering up any redness that peeks through with Moore's fair complexion.

To further perfect her base, Moore uses another Hourglass find: Vanish Airbrush Concealer. She describes it as "a really great but very pigmented concealer." The actress applies it with her fingers underneath her eyes, which she says is a problem spot.

Like the foundation, this concealer is a long-wear formula, but it's also waterproof. It's crease-resistant, too, so you don't have to worry about using it around your eyes, nose, mouth or anywhere else that has a few lines.
After applying the concealer, Moore sets her face with a bit of powder, and her base is done. The result is soft, even and not cakey at all: Let's just say that the natural makeup look is something we think deserves an award, too.
