Will There Be a Third Season of 'Loki'? Here's What the Show's Executive Producer Said

Fans of the Marvel Universe can't get enough of the Disney+ spin-off series Loki, starring Tom Hiddleston. After waiting patiently for two years, season 2 is finally in full swing, but that just leaves us wondering whether this season will be the last. And with that, will Loki ever return to the Marvel Universe after his death in Avengers: Infinity War? Season 2 drops with one episode per week on Thursdays beginning October 5, with the last episode coming out on November 9.

"Loki season 2 picks up in the aftermath of the shocking season finale when Loki finds himself in a battle for the soul of the Time Variance Authority. Along with Mobius, Hunter B-15 and a team of new and returning characters, Loki navigates and ever-expanding and increasingly dangerous multiverse in search of Sylvie, Judge Renslayer, Miss Minutes and the truth of what it means to possess free will and glorious purpose," the official Season 2 synopsis from Marvel Studios reads.

Considering other Marvel series like WandaVision and Falcon ended after just one season, as they were designed that way, it's clear Loki is already different than these two titles. Unlike other chronological origin stories, Loki travels between time, making the timeline a lot more difficult to predict. As of right now it seems that the future of Loki and the series are undetermined.

"I think it's open-ended. We certainly did not develop this season going, 'We have to tee up season 3'– in the way that we did with Season 1, where there was a very specific, 'Hey we're coming back.' But I also think that where this show goes, there certainly can be many, many, many more stories told with Loki in the Loki world, and in other worlds connected to Loki, the character," Loki Executive Producer Kevin Wright told Variety.

All that being said, a third season of Loki has not been confirmed, but we wouldn't rule it out as a possibility just yet.
