A Third Season of "Elite" Will Debut on Netflix in 2020

The second season of Elite hasn't even arrived to Netflix yet, but there's good news for fans hoping the drama and mystery of the show never has to end. Ahead of the show's newest season, which debuts on September 6, it's been confirmed that the series was already renewed for a third season, Variety reported.

There's no word on an official release date for the return, but the show's Netflix Twitter account confirmed it was coming in 2020. Diego Avalos, director of Netflix originals in Spain, also confirmed the renewal news during a Thursday press conference about the show, but he remained tightlipped on what to expect from its 2020 season, Variety reported. Fortunately for eager fans, the press conference did shed some light on season two.

Along with the introduction of new characters, including Valerio, a party-friendly brother to Lu, season two also includes the debut of Rebeca, a boxing mentor to Samuel, and Cayetana, a social media maven. The show's crew said that the new season would focus more on plot and less on the introduction of characters. “In the first Season we were conscious that we were making a series for Netflix, and tried to put everything into it,” said Darío Madrona, one of the show's creators. “For Season 2, we thought that we had the opportunity to explore the characters and the new ones as well. But it was an instinctive decision.”

Aside from a small teaser video announcing the show's return, little has been revealed about what fans can expect from the September 6 premiere. However, the show's cast and crew did confirm that season two is all about a missing person. There's no word on which of our Elite faves might end up disappearing, but based on the action and drama of last season, fans are in for one wild ride.
