If You've Been To A Gynecologist, What's Something You Wish You Knew Before Your First Visit?

Going to a gynecologist for the first time can be a very nerve-racking experience for anyone, and it may or may not meet your expectations. So, I want to hear from you: What's something you wish you knew before your first visit?

Maybe you wish you knew that you could ask the doctor to adjust things like table angle, size of the speculum, etc. to make your exam more comfortable.

Or that you even could change the position you're sitting in if sitting with your legs open and in the footrests is uncomfortable.

Perhaps you thought it'd be painless but for you, but it wasn't and you weren't offered anything for pain relief, so now you always take something like Advil before your visit.

Or maybe you didn't even know that you could follow along with a mirror so you could see what was happening and better perform your own self-exams.
