Things to do this weekend: Plants, festivals, Independent Bookstore Day

(WHTM) — It’s the last weekend in April and there are plenty of scheduled events in the Midstate. Here is abc27’s list of things to do from Friday, April 26 to Sunday, April 28.

Harrisburg area

Wetlands Festival — The 24th annual Wetlands Festival is happening this Saturday at Wildwood Park in Harrisburg. The event is free to attend and runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Highlights will include live music, wildlife up close, guides walks, kids activities and more.

Midtown Scholar: Independent Bookstore Day — Harrisburg’s Midtown Scholar is hosting a celebration of Independent Bookstore Day. The event will be free to attend and will run from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. There will be book signings, a craft, a dog adoption event and more. The bookstore is among 500 hundred bookstores across the country to participate in the national event.

Spring Concert Series — The West Shore Theatre in New Cumberland is continuing their Spring Concert Series this weekend. There will be one school at 7 p.m. on Friday night featuring Rascal Revival with Lucid Ruby. To learn more head to the Visit Cumberland Valley website.

Bike Harrisburg gearing up to celebrate Bike Month

Lancaster area

Lancaster Native Plant & Wildlife festival — The annual Lancaster Native Plant & Wildlife Festival is happening this Saturday, April 27 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will be held at the Overlook Community Campus and will plant vendors, presentations, food trucks, activities for kids and more.

Pocket Books Shop: Independent Book Store Day — Pocket Books Shop in Lancaster is celebrating both Independent Bookstore Day and their two-year anniversary this Saturday, The event runs from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and will feature authors, guests, activities, merch and more.

Lancaster Native Plant & Wildlife Festival returns

York area

York County Spring Fest — The York County Spring Fest is happening from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the York Expo Center this Saturday. More than 150 vendors are planning on attending the event.

Fang Around the Cauldron — York’s Royal Square District is holding their annual springtime celebration of Witches night. The event is happening this Saturday and it will feature art, music, vendors, and more. Learn more on the Explore York website.

Adams County Blossom Festival — The third annual Adams County Blossom festival is returning this weekend at the National Apple Museum in Biglerville. The event is happening Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 pm. and it will feature carriage rides to the orchards, face painting, bobbing for apples, wine tasting, food, live music, vendors, tours and more.

Chambersburg area

4th Annual Spring Fest — Backroads Greenhouse in Chambersburg is hosting their 4th Annual Spring Fest from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. this Saturday. Attendees will be able to shop for spring flowers, house plants, food and more.
