Things to do this weekend: Guitars, chainsaws, Earth Day celebrations

(WHTM) — The weekend has rolled around again and with it are lots of things to do in the Midstate. Here is abc27’s list of event’s happening from Friday, April 19 to Sunday, April 20.

Harrisburg area

Artisan Guitar Show — Harrisburg’s Best Western Premier The Central Hotel & Conference Center is hosting an artisan guitar show this weekend. The event begins Friday and runs through Sunday, and will feature world-class handcrafted guitars and their makers. More information about the event is available here.

2024 Spring Concert Series — The 2024 Spring Concert Series continues this weekend at the West Shore Theatre in New Cumberland. There will be three performances this weekend on Friday night, Saturday night and Sunday afternoon. This weekend’s performers include “The Jersey Tenors,” and “Sweet Baby James: The #1 James Taylor Tribute.” Head to the Visit Cumberland Valley website to learn more.

Lancaster area

Earth Day Extravaganza — The Lancaster Public Library is hosting its Earth Day Extravaganza this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Lancaster’s Ewell Plaza. Organizers say the event is an opportunity for the community to learn about environmental issues and solutions. Hershey area

Earth Day Celebration — This Saturday, April 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Hershey Gardens will hold its Earth Day celebration featuring demonstrations and informational sessions on recycling, composting and gardening. The event will also feature games, live insects, ice cream music, and the opportunity to learn how to make a seed bomb.

Carlisle area

Spring Carlisle — Carlisle Events is continuing its annual Spring Carlisle event this weekend. The event began Wednesday and runs until Sunday at the Carlisle Fairgrounds. Gettysburg area

Dinosaurs, Rocks and Meteorites — The Adams County Historical Society is hosting “Dinosaur, Rocks & Meteorites” a special interactive program highlighting a meteorite found near Two Taverns as well as dinosaur tracks found in northen Adams County. Central PA Chainsaw Carvers Festival — The Central PA Chainsaw Carvers Festival is happening this weekend at the Shippensburg Fairgrounds. The event began Thursday, April 18 and runs until Saturday. According to organizers, the festival features professional chainsaw carvers from across the county, unique chainsaw artwork, auctions, food trucks and more.
