(WHTM) — The April showers brought May flowers and a lot of things to do in the Midstate. Here is abc27’s list of events happening from Friday, May 3 to Sunday, May 5.

Harrisburg area

Author event — #1 New York Times Bestselling author Erik Larson is visiting Harrisburg this weekend to discuss his new book, “The Demon of Unrest: A Saga of Hubris, Heartbreak, and Heroism at the Dawn of the Civil War.” The event will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 4 at the Scottish Rite Cathedral in Harrisburg, located at 2701 North 3rd Street, Harrisburg. Garden Faire — Harrisburg’s Fort Hunter is kicking off its season of events this weekend with the return if its springtime Garden Faire. The event includes a craft show, plants, lunch and a Victorian Dance. Festival admission is free and mansion tours cost $5 per person.

York area

717 Vintage Fest — 717 Vintage Fest, a vintage-only vendor market, is coming to the York Expo Center this weekend. Organizers say the event includes clothing, accessories, home decor, etc. To learn more, including how to buy tickets, visit 717vintagefest.com.

Women’s Expo — The York Expo Center is hosting a Women’s Expo this Saturday, May 4. The event is free to attend and will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Visit the Explore York website to learn more.

Downtown Mechanicsburg Art & Wine Walk 2024 — The 22nd annual Mechanicsburg Art and Wine Walk is happening this Saturday, May 4 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m at participating locations in downtown Mechanicsburg. More information is available on the Visit Cumberland Valley website.

Carlisle area

69th Annual Eastern National Antiques Show and Sale — The Carlisle Expo Center is hosting the 69th Annual Spring Easter National Antiques Show and Sale this weekend. Admission costs $5 on Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is free on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
