Deadline to sign up for Memorial Day run at Imperial Memorial Gardens Cemetery

5450 Colorado Highway 78 West | noon May 24 is registration deadline, race is 8 a.m. May 27 | The 5-kilometer Fun Run & Walk will honor our fallen heroes while supporting victims of domestic violence.  Registration is absolutely free. Donations of clothing or other items to support victims of domestic violence will be accepted. Each participant will receive a finisher medal, plus families with children will find plenty of entertainment options, including a bounce house and various food trucks. Mexican Dinner Fiesta at Shrine of St. Therese

300 Goodnight Ave, parish hall | 4-7 p.m. | The Knights of Columbus dinner will feature cheese enchiladas, tamales and combination plates served with beans and rice. A variety of baked goods and drinks also are included. Cost is $10 and take-out is available.

Community Contra Dance and 1 Year Celebration at The Ethos

615 E. Mesa Ave. | 6-8 p.m. for the dance, 6-10 p.m. for the celebration | Enjoy partner dancing with free lessons. No experience required, just wear comfortable shoes. Partners are provided. Donations encouraged. Celebrate the sober bar's first anniversary with gifts of paper. Leave a note with your favorite Ethos experience, and help fold 1,000 paper cranes to wish for safety and prosperity for the community. The anniversary event is free.

MaiTanz Dance Event at Pueblo Elks 90

426 N. Santa Fe Ave., use the side entrance on Fifth Ave. | 7-10:30 p.m. | The Pueblo German American Club is hosting the German May Dance celebration featuring polka beats by Rick Borger and the Average German Band. Grab your lederhosen or dirndl, and come dressed to impress in your best Bavarian attire. Cost is $15 and children 16 and younger are free. A cash bar, including mocktails, will be available.

Gruesome Playground Injuries Play at Impossible Playhouse

Laura's Park Dedication at former Starlite Park

103 Starlite Drive, corner of Starlite Drive and Surfwood Lane | noon-2 p.m. | FBI Special Agent Laura Schwartzenberger will be remembered for her life and legacy during a special dedication ceremony at the park. Schwartzenberger was killed Feb. 2, 2021, along with fellow FBI agent Daniel Alfin while serving an arrest warrant for child exploitation in Sunrise, Florida. She was a 1996 graduate of Pueblo South High School. The event will include food and fun for the whole family.

131 Spring St. | noon-9 p.m. | The event celebrates performance and sound art and all things avant. Performers from all over the country will be participating and visitors can see the exhibit, "Bob Marsh celebrates 80 Years in the arts."Donations are accepted.

Past Obsession Exchange at The Ethos

Butch Chavez Memorial Day Ruck at Roselawn Memorial Gardens

1706 Roselawn Road | 7 a.m. registration, 8 a.m. walk, run and ruck | Veterans Overcoming Obstacles and Roselawn are sponsoring this year's event, which is dedicated to World War II Veteran Bill Barrett. Cost is $22 and tickets are sold at eventbrite.com.

Memorial Day Service at Roselawn Cemetery

1706 Roselawn Road | 10 a.m. | A mass will be held in front of the Bishops' Mausoleum plus Knights of Columbus members will escort a procession to the military section for a blessing of the graves of fallen military members and their spouses. A firing of volleys and "Taps" will conclude the ceremony. Participants are welcome to bring chairs.

101 S. Main St. | noon-3 p.m. | A featured message will be provided at 1 p.m. by Medal of Honor Recipient Major Drew Dix speaking about, "A day to honor our servicemen and women who died on the battlefield." Refreshments will be served.

Pueblo Entertainment Industry Mixer at Pueblo Convention Center

320 Central Main St. | 6-8 p.m. | The convention center staff and Mountain Star Management are hosting the event to provide networking opportunities for individuals in the local entertainment industry. Artists, venue representatives, event coordinators, studio professionals, or entertainment company reps can expand their network and explore potential partnerships. There will be a local talent showcase, hors d'oeuvres and refreshments plus a gift card drawing.
