NARI Milwaukee Tour of Remodeled Homes

NARI Milwaukee's annual Tour of Remodeled Homes is 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 18-19. Among the views on the 10-stop Milwaukee-area tour are kitchen remodels, "whole home" re-dos and a “resort-style” backyard with an in-ground pool, outdoor kitchen, fire pit and more. Big Truck Day in Red Arrow Park

A fleet of big City of Milwaukee rigs will ring Red Arrow Park, 920 N. Water St., from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 18 for the Big Truck Roundup. Kids get to explore big rigs and meet the people who operate them. Info: milwaukeedowntown.com.

Armed Forces Day celebration at Harley-Davidson Museum

In partnership with Armed Forces Week, the Harley-Davidson Museum, 400 W. Canal St., has a string of events from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 18. Among them: the Wisconsin Warrior Challenge, interactive military displays, a Support the Troops Ride and military gallery talks in the museum (talks included with museum admission). Free day at Boerner Botanical Gardens

Milwaukee County Parks and Friends of Boerner Botanical Gardens sponsor a free-admission day at the botanical gardens, 9400 Boerner Drive in Hales Corners, on May 19 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. (The gardens will also have free admission on the last Thursday of the month from May through October.) Been wondering about all the construction at the Baird Center downtown? Well, you can check out the $456 million expansion this weekend at an open house from 1 to 5 p.m. May 18 at the convention center, 400 W. Wisconsin Ave. You can check out the new space as well as the new art from more than 20 mostly local artists, and there'll be giveaways at the new visitor center on the main floor. Parking in the Baird Center garage, 501 W. Kilbourn Ave., will be free from 12:30 to 5 p.m. on first-come, first-served basis. Admission is free. Info: bairdcenter.com.
