Things to do in Kansas City this weekend May 10-12
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — This weekend is Mother’s Day weekend in the U.S., and several events are taking place across Kansas City, some involving Mother’s Day and others just for fun.
Here are 12 events going on this weekend — May 10 through May 12 — that are worth checking out.

Arrowhead 5K
Run on the field at Arrowhead Stadium in Chiefs 11th annual 5K. The “Run Like a Champion” 5K is at 7 p.m. on Friday. There will also be a 1K offered for kids 12 years old and younger. The 1K will be at 6:30 p.m. before the 5K.
KC Summer Beer Fest
The KC Brew Fest takes over Arrowhead Stadium, featuring over 60 breweries and 150 beers, food trucks, and a rare opportunity to party on the playing field.
General admission is $50 and includes unlimited samples of beer, access to the football field, as well as KC’s best food trucks. Early admission is $65 and adds an extra hour.
VIP admission is $90 with all the benefits of Early Admission, plus access to the locker room, media room, and players lounge with exclusive beers poured in the lounge.
When: Saturday from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m.

Lenexa Art Fair
The Lenexa Art Fair is perfect for art enthusiasts and jazz lovers. It is a one-day, outdoor, juried art fair featuring about 50 regional fine artists, live jazz, children’s art activities, food trucks and wine, craft beer and fine spirits tastings.
When: Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Dog Mom’s Day at Bar K
Calling all dog moms! On Saturday at Bar K, there will be $6 “Mom-osas” and quality time to make memories with your pups in Bar K’s dog-friendly atmosphere. Bar K will be giving away dog-themed bookmarks to the first 100 dog moms who attend.
When: Saturday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Sip & Shop at KC Wine Co.
KC Wine Co.’s Sip & Shop event features 20 local vendors. It will be a unique shopping experience that combines delicious wine with local products.
Visitors can browse and shop for various products made by local artisans, including handcrafted jewelry, gourmet foods, artisanal pottery, and more.

Another Kansas City metro county pushing for Buc-ee’s
Little Shop of Horrors
Don’t feed the plants! Little Shop of Horrors continues its run in Kansas City. Head to UMKC’s KC Rep Spencer Theater to see the story of Seymour, his crush Audrey, and “Audrey Two” the man-eating houseplant. Tickets start at around $60.

Jazz & Jackie: A Musical Salute to Jackie Robinson
The Negro Leagues Baseball Museum is showing “Jazz & Jackie: A Musical Salute to Jackie Robinson,” on Saturday at the Gem Theater in Kansas City, Missouri. Jazz & Jackie celebrates his Kansas City professional baseball roots and his unbridled love of jazz.
Tickets cost $75 for the lower level and $50 for the upper level.

Sporting KC vs Houston Dynamo FC
Sporting KC will take on the Houston Dynamo FC at Children’s Mercy Park. Houston is currently the 15th-place team in the MLS, and Sporting is the 21st-place team.

Olathe Live! Presents: Dueling Pianos
Howl2Go by Howl at the moon is bringing a high-energy live dueling piano show to Olathe on Friday. Vocalists on the piano will lead an engaging performance, and take requests from the audience.

MJ the Musical
The multi-Tony Award-winning new musical centered around the making of Michael Jackson’s 1992 Dangerous World Tour is coming to Kansas City this weekend. The musical is being performed at the Kansas City Music Hall

Parade of Homes Final Weekend
It’s the final weekend for the parade of homes! It’s one of the largest and most impressive displays of new homes in the country. The hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. this weekend. The last day is Sunday.
NF at T-Mobile Center
