Things to do in Green Bay this weekend: National Grilled Cheese Day, Jazz Fest, Lynyrd Skynyrd and ZZ Top

GREEN BAY - As the weather warms up this weekend, you may be looking for some fun things to do in the Green Bay area.

There's stuff to do for shoppers, wine tasters, jazz devotees, cheeseheads and gardeners. Whoever you are, there's plenty to do to make it a great weekend in Green Bay.

Here are some events to check out this weekend in the greater Green Bay area.

Sip and shop in De Pere

De Pere's Sip and Shop Wine Walk is back Friday night. Sample wine from local, national, and international wineries while checking out deals offered at 17 businesses in downtown De Pere.

Tickets cost $25 and includes wine, snacks, and exclusive discounts during the event. A list of the discounts and tickets can be found at www.definitelydepere.org, or buy a ticket by calling the Definitely De Pere office at 920-403-0337. The event is 4-8 p.m. Friday. Green Bay Jazz Fest

The Green Bay Jazz Fest kicked off Monday across the city with events during the week on the UW-Green Bay campus, at The Weidner, The Tarlton Theatre, and Copper State Brewing.

The celebrations wrap up over the weekend with Wycliffe Gordon headlining the festival at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at The Weidner, followed by a late night jam session at 9:30 p.m. Saturday at the Tarlton. The All City Jazz Ensemble and UW-Green Bay Jazz Ensemble perform with Gordon Friday night at The Weidner. Tickets for Gordon's performance on Saturday areavailable through Ticket Star.

National Grilled Cheese Day at 888 Cheese & Co

Calling all cheeseheads and sandwich lovers — National Grilled Cheese Day is Friday. To celebrate, 888 Cheese & Co, 1582 Lineville Road, Suamico, will have a contest and create your own grilled cheese recipe. Your recipe could win and become a special at the restaurant and you can win a $25 gift card.

Spring shopping at Wonderland

Get all the deals at Wonderland Vintage Market during the spring sale. The vintage store, at 1712 Velp Ave., sells antiques and collectibles from over 50 vendors. The sales will last 10-6 p.m. Friday and 10-4 p.m. Saturday, and people can sign up for gift card giveaways.

Spring Fling at Heritage Hill

For this month's "Second Saturday" event, Heritage Hill State Historical Park is kicking spring off with Spring Fling. Explore the wildlife at the state historical park and help plant the garden. People who attend can take a plant home. Learn about the animals coming out of hibernation and do nature-themed crafts.

The event is 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. More information is Heritage Hill's website. General admission is $6 for adults and $3 for kids under 12.

Gamblers play Madison

The Gamblers play the Madison Capitols at 6:05 p.m. Saturday night at Resch Center on family and first responder night.

Tickets start at $13 for adults and $11 for kids younger than 14 on Ticket Star.

Alive Again: Tribute to Chicago

Musicians around the Midwest are coming together in a tribute to the rock band Chicago. Go down memory lane and remember all the Chicago classics at the Ashwaubenon Performing Arts Center.

The concert is at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Tickets start at $36 on Ticket Star.

Lynyrd Skynyrd and ZZ TOP at the Resch

The Sharped Dress Simple Man Tour makes a stop Sunday night at the Resch Center with Lynyrd Skynyrd and ZZ Top. Special guest Black Stone Cherry will also perform. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the show is at 7 p.m.
