It’s important to set aside a few minutes each day to unwind, find calmness and build your mental and physical strength. Yahoo’s Brittany Jones-Cooper invited us into her at-home yoga studio to introduce us to poses she learned from yoga instructor Tara Stiles.
While there are various practices of yoga, these specific yoga poses can help you achieve a feeling of calmness and reach a sense of zen.
Cooper takes us through three simple, yet beneficial poses: standing pose, tree pose and easy pose. She guides viewers with different variations, step-by-step movements and breathing techniques. Although these moves are simple, they encourage us to focus on our breathing, which automatically puts us in a more relaxed state.
“The next time your kids are getting on your nerves or your boss requests another video meeting, try one of these poses to keep you centered,” she says.
Always check with your physician before starting a new exercise routine. For more of Stiles’ calming poses, you can find her on Instagram.
