A new Taylor Sheridan series is here, and Yellowstone fans are on the edge of their seats with excitement. Lawmen: Bass Reeves premieres on November 5, and there's only one way to watch the series starring David Oyelowo, Lauren E. Banks, Demi Singleton, Forrest Goodluck, Barry Pepper, Donald Sutherland, and Dennis Quaid.

How to watch Lawmen: Bass Reeves

Like Taylor Sheridan's other shows like Mayor of Kingstown, 1883, and 1923, Lawmen: Bass Reeves will air exclusively on Paramount+. The first two episodes will be available to watch on Sunday, November 5, and the remaining episodes will air weekly on Sundays. There are a total of eight episodes in the season.

Paramount+ subscriptions start at $5.99 a month and go up to $11.99 a month for the plan that includes Showtime. Both plans offer a one-week free trial for new subscribers.

Will Lawmen: Bass Reeves air on CBS?

CBS has tested airing Paramount shows like Yellowstone and Frasier on network TV to great success (21.6 million viewers watched the first season of Yellowstone on CBS). Will Lawmen: Bass Reeves follow suit? A representative from the Sheridan Universe told Country Living that they're "always open to exploring sampling opportunities," but nothing is planned at this time. That means Paramount+ is the only place to watch the series, at least for now.

Will there be a season 2 of Lawmen: Bass Reeves?

The season starring David Oyelowo is a standalone, but it is a part of a larger anthology from the mind of Sheridan. According to Paramount+, "Future iterations will follow other iconic lawmen and outlaws who have impacted history."

Is Lawmen: Bass Reeves part of Yellowstone?

When Paramount+ first announced the series, it was called 1883: The Bass Reeves Story, making viewers think it was linked to the Yellowstone spinoff 1883. While the series spans a similar time period, the storylines will not overlap.

Showrunner Chad Feehan told TV Insider, “There [were] conversations about a tie into 1883 before I was hired, and when I was hired I was given the freedom to craft the most compelling story that I could alongside the other writers. I was given the opportunity, if there was a place to tie it to 1883, that was OK, but there was no obligation to do so. And so, we landed where we landed, which was our story takes place from roughly 1862 to 1877. And Bass primarily operates in [Native American] territory, which is modern day Oklahoma and Fort Smith, Arkansas. And so it didn’t feel natural or organic to bring in any of the 1883 characters to the story.”
