Beauty and the Beast is a tale as old as time - and it's stood the test of time. A full 25 years after the animated movie's release, the live-action version has become one of this year's most buzzed-about flicks, with its trailer racking up a record-breaking 91.8 million views in a single day. But one of the most insanely anticipated aspects of the movie comes down to a single song. Really, a single dress: Belle's golden yellow ballgown, which she wears while dancing with the Beast, gradually falling for the ultra-hairy prince.

At some point, every girl in the '90s either donned that gown for Halloween, dress-up, or owned a doll that wore it. It was everywhere. And as the movie gears up for its March 17 debut, we had to pay homage with a cupcake resembling the iconic dress.

There Are No Special Kitchen Gadgets Needed.

These little cakes look complicated at first, but they really, truly aren't. We tested them with bakers and amateurs alike, and no one had any issues creating an Instagram-worthy treat. All you're doing is baking cupcakes as you normally would, flipping them upside-down, and topping them with a giant marshmallow, using icing to stick them together.

This Hack Gives You Perfectly Smooth Frosting.

At first glance, you might think we're using fondant here. Oh, no - it's way easier (and tastier) than that. Once you've stirred in enough food coloring to tint store-bought buttercream frosting yellow-gold, microwave it for 20 seconds, giving it a good stir, so it's about the consistency of cake batter. Then you can pour it on top of the cakes, setting them on a cooling rack so the frosting can drip off the cakes. It'll set in a few minutes, creating a smooth finish that tastes like the glaze on an Entennman's donut. Seriously.

I've found pouring directly on top of the marshmallow, then spiraling outward to make sure the entire cupcake's covered, gives it the most even finish. You may think you're wasting frosting, but you can easily collect the runoff in a baking sheet, pour it into a microwave-safe bowl, and reuse it for the second coat. (It usually takes two coats so the chocolate cupcake doesn't show through. To use less frosting, try a vanilla cupcake. We just prefer the chocolate cake and vanilla buttercream combo.)

Fruit Snacks Complete The Look. Seriously.

From there, you can use a tube of yellow gel frosting to make the ruffles on Belle's gown, then trim fruit snacks and rainbow sour belts (or Airheads Xtremes) to create the Enchanted Rose. That's it - so easy Lumiere could do it. As long as he doesn't catch the cakes on fire.

We'll Share Our Swag With You.

Oh, and for anyone who was like, "Is that a Beauty and the Beast purse?!" or "Where can I get that Chip cup?!" we've got you. Yes, that really is a purse that looks like the book - it's by Danielle Nicole, and we got it on HSN. Chip and Mrs. Potts were part of a kid's tea set sold at the Disney store, though (spoiler!) if you happen to be at a Disney park, you can score a full-size Chip mug there. None of these brands paid us for this - we've seen your emails on other videos and wanted to help you out, because we fangirl (and fanboy) over this stuff just as much as you do. 😉
