The Weird New Way Zara Wants You To Wear Your Bag

This is a photo of something Zara calls a “Fringed Wallet.” It’s obviously just a purse, though. A pretty, petite, beaded purse that’s sure to add a touch of vintage-style daintiness to your holiday ensembles. Obviously, the long strap means it is a shoulder bag, and Zara means you to wear it as such.

This holiday, you’re nothing if you’re not sporting the necklace-bag. Photo: Zara.

Only: psych! By cleverly placing the purse around the model’s neck, Zara proves that literally any bag can be instantly transformed it into a large, unwieldy statement necklace. Just think of the possibilities: wearing your bag in front rather than at your side could save you precious milliseconds when reaching for your phone, lip balm, or Kind bar. You could even stick a flask of whiskey in here, and be the fashion-y, human equivalent of a St. Bernard rescue dog.

And of course, the necklace-bag is an ideal solution for when you’re at a party, and your song comes on, but the crowd at the party is kind of sketchy, and you don’t want to set down your bag to dance. Just hook your purse around your neck and start to sway. Now the only question is, what’s the appropriate portmanteau? Neck-urse? Bag-lace? Whatever you call it, it’s going to be a very hands-free holiday, y’all.
