The latest product recalls in 2024: Yogi tea bags, Aldi cream cheese and Honda trucks were all recalled this week
Yogi Tea is recalling nearly 900,000 tea bags after detecting excessive levels of pesticide residue.
A few months ago, I came down with terrible stomach pains and flu-like symptoms. I chalked it up to a regular virus, but a few weeks later, the symptoms came back. It wasn't until after visiting a doctor and getting an ultrasound — time and money I'll never get back — that I discovered the salad kits I'd eaten in both instances were recalled for potential listeria contamination. Luckily, I'm fine, but now I'm a little more cautious about staying on the lookout for product recalls.
This week, high-profile product recalls include Yogi tea bags, Aldi cream cheese, Walmart chia seeds, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors from Amazon and Honda Ridgeline trucks. If you have any of these items, keep reading — you should also act ASAP.

Recalled: Yogi Tea Bags ⛔
East West Tea Company has recalled nearly 55,000 16-pack boxes of its Yogi Echinacea Immune Support tea — that's nearly 900,000 tea bags! — because "pesticide residues were detected above action levels." No illnesses have been reported.
Where were they sold? Grocery stores nationwide
What to do: If you have a box of this tea at home, check the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's website to see whether yours is affected by the recall. If so, throw it out immediately.
Alternative option: Love tea? Try a cuppa from Oprah's favorite tea brand (it's reportedly gut-friendly).
Recalled: Aldi Cream Cheese ⛔
Last week, Hy-Vee and Schnuck's recalled some of their cream cheese, and now Aldi is following suit. The grocery chain is recalling four types of cream cheese "out of an abundance of caution" for potential salmonella contamination. The recalled flavors are Happy Farms Whipped Cream Cheese Spread, Chive & Onion Cream Cheese Spread, Cream Cheese Spread and Strawberry Cream Cheese Spread.
Where were they sold? Aldi stores in Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia and Wisconsin
What to do: Throw out affected products immediately or return them to your local Aldi store for a full refund.
Alternative option: Trade your boring bagel for a more complete meal with this popular breakfast sandwich maker.
Recalled: Great Value Chia Seeds ⛔
Food supplier National Sourcing International is recalling select 32-ounce pouches of Organic Great Value Chia Seeds, sold exclusively at Walmart. The recall stems from potential salmonella contamination. Affected bags have an expiration date of Oct. 30, 2026, and the lot number 24095 C018 printed on the bottom of the back panel. No illnesses have been reported.
Where were they sold? Walmart stores nationwide
What to do: Throw out affected products immediately. Natural Sourcing International will provide a replacement after receiving proof of purchase.

Recalled: Chzhvan Combination Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detectors ⛔
If you purchased a smoke and carbon monoxide detector from Amazon, listen up. The Chzhvan brand is recalling 6,800 of them because they can fail to activate and alert you of a fire. While no injuries have been reported, the detectors didn't sound an alarm in the presence of smoke in at least five instances.
Where were they sold? Amazon
What to do: Stop using the detectors immediately and contact the brand via email for a full refund.
Alternative option: One Yahoo editor swears by this portable carbon monoxide detector and even takes it with her when she travels.
Recalled: Honda Ridgeline Trucks ⛔
Honda is recalling over 187,000 2020-2024 Ridgeline trucks due to an issue with the rearview camera. According to the recall notice, the tailgate wire harness may break, preventing the rearview camera image from displaying. This increases the risk of an accident. (Backup cameras became mandatory on new vehicles in the U.S. starting May 1, 2018.)
Where were they sold? Nationwide between 2020 and 2024
What to do: Honda dealers will replace the tailgate wire harness free of charge. If your truck is affected, you should receive a letter notifying you of the recall by July 1.
Alternative option: If your car is older and doesn't have a backup camera, you can add this one from Amazon for less than $50.
